Chavez: crazier/stupider than Bush?.

Thanks alot buddy. because of your little stunt at the UN yesterday, we've go Nancy Pelosi siding with Bush for the first time in - I think - ever. Thanks to you and your hysterical rant yesterday, you almost made bush look good!

In times of national crisis, people are going to rally around their leader. It's the same reason why we should never attack Iran, or try to force democracy anywhere!

But now, you got me agreeing with things that John Bolton says.

Way to go, Dickhead.

(on an unrealated and random note, this is awesome.)

Tips and "petty" cash

Apparetnly, I tip too much.

I just submitted a petty cash form to be reimbursed for a cab ride I took home after working till 2:30am at the Prada store in Soho monday night.

The ride was $11.80, and I figured the guy was pretty nice, coherent, english-speaking, etc., so when I got out of the cab, I rounded up to $15 and was on my way.

I was questioned about this obscenely large tip, and I submitted to the fact that yes, the tip probably was a little more that necessary, at about 27%. So I agreed to knocking $2 off the expense form, simply to avoid an annoying meeting with the head of accounting about taking advantage of petty cash, and to prevent my future expense forms from being overly scutinized and constantly questioned.

The thing is, I know how much they bill me out for, and it's far greater than what they pay me. I certainly don't feel bad, and I know that I am not taking advantage. They will still profit handsomely from my work.

And also, at the end of an 18 hour day, would you be breaking your head over the extra $2 in the tip though? I didn't.
I guess that's the "petty" part of of petty cash though.
But they are asking me if it was my own money, would I still tip that much? and I think the answer is YES, i would.

Pete has suggested that I sometimes tip too much though, so maybe there's something to this. But ultimately, I think that people who work for tips deserve a little generousity now and again. and in the grand scheme of things, the occasional extra $2 or $3 is not going to make a dent in my finances. Besides, It's not like a cab is like a fancy hotel, where you have to tip pretty much everyone you see at least 5 or 10 dollars.

what do you guys think? do I tip too much? how much is is enough for satisfactory service in a cab? or at a resturant, or bar? or for the food delivery guy? the doorman of your building? (if you have one... though I bet nobody reading this does. I know someone who used to be one though, and around christmas time, they definitley make out like theives!)

your thoughts? anyone?

another one for the blogroll...

I know nobody elsce cares, but I gotta hand it to The White Barry. He's got a great mix of indie and hip-hop posts - right up my alley. and on top of that he posted Fishscale (the new ghostface killah album) today!

(P.S. - I'll buy a drink for the first person who can tell me what fishscale refers to! comments please! (P.P.S. - Pete, I already told you what it means. sorry, you can't play.))

My jam. (for today)

Ceatano Veloso - Alfomega

(thanks to Oh No!)

I Quit.

So, I did it. some of you may know what I am talking about; some of you may not.
It was harder that I thought it would be. and i feel pretty shitty about it. but if it's not fun any more, then what's the point? right?

I know I let some people down, but I guess it's just what I had to do.

we had a good run...

Devastatin' Dave, Turntable Slave

It made #2 on somebody's worst album covers of all time list. How cool is that!?

(Disclaimer: OK, so I'm stealing somebody else's work and bandwidth... but how many people are actually reading this? c'mon...)
